Gordon Rush Shoes

Gordon Rush offers a refreshing alternative to conservative designer shoes. Infusing classic designs and modern interpretations, there styles provide elegant comfort and impeccable quality. Inspired by Asian design and crafted in Italy, Gordon Rush collections bring a new sensibility to men's designer shoes. Featuring classic styles with a modern twist, the Gordon Rush collection combines old world craftsmanship with edgy design. (courtesy of Shoes.com)

I bought both a black and brown pair of the 'Shaw' loafers from Nordstroms and absolutely love them. The black pair can be worn with a business casual outfit at work or can be paired with dark jeans for a night out at town. The browns match well with khakis or jeans for a more casual look. The shoes are incredibly comfortable and reasonably priced at only $130.

Rolex Explorer II

The Rolex Explorer was created in 1954, the year of the first ascent of Everest. The Oyster Perpetual Explorer II featurs a 24-hour fixed bezel and a 24-hour hand to display the time in two time zones and to distinguish between day and night.

The Explorer II is a sporty yet classy watch that can be worn into the Boardroom or while climbing Mt. Everest (for you commando types). While I've always been a Rolex fan, I find many of the models to be either too gaudy or too immitated (think Submariner).

The retail price is $5000 and most authorized Rolex dealers are unwilling to budge on price. I purchased mine at the Ben Bridge at the UTC mall in San Diego for $4640 plus tax. It took weeks of haggling before I convinced them to negotiate a lower price. The Tourneau store at the Century City mall in Los Angeles was unwilling to budge on price. Their only carrot was to throw in a free $695 Tourneau watch (no thank-you). You can find grey market watches on the net going for around $4500 but for this kind of investment, I'd rather go to an authorized dealer.
